Haven't tormented anyone with my 'poetry' for a bit, so with little Sion playing with his binky and eyeing me and the cat, I'd thought I'd give it a go with a haiku.
Mated for life
first bud of spring
birds return.
And if I haven't said it yet, thank you to everyone for your words of encouragement. Thanks!

How lovely! Great take on the prompt.

I really like the bare-essentials minimalism of this, with none of the "poetics" lost.
I love that! Such a beautiful relationship you describe!
Nature has its' own homecomings.
Great haiku.
Hi Lenore, I have had other lives, guess I was mated for each?
(Please forgive me, I could not help myself there, I do know what is right. Sometimes there is no choice, it takes two to make a marriage.)
Thank you for peeking in and leaving the tale of the bumper sticker.
..
Wonderful haiku to end my busy day with. Thanks for taking the time away from baby to share this with us.
Great haiku!!
lovely. :) i like how the first bud of spring could also mean the birds' first chicks.
Pared down beautifully.
